Suspicion of abuse

If you suspect that your MitID is compromised, you can block it temporally. You can do it yourself or you can contact MitID Support. When you block it, all use of MitID is suspended. This means that you or anybody else will not be able to use - or misuse - your MitID.

What are the signs that your MitID is being compromised?

  • If you user ID has been changed by someone else.
  • If you receive messages from MitID about subjects, you do not recognize.
  • If you have approved a request that you did not initialize.
  • If you have informed a person, you suspect of fraud, about your user ID or password.

Check for suspicious activity

Before you block your MitID, you can check whether suspicious activity has taken place and whether there is reason to block.

Check your latest activities at the bottom of your profile page.

Blocking

  • You can block your MitID temporarily, if it is compromised.
  • If you have lost or had your mobile phone with our app, your code display, your code reader or chip stolen, it does not mean that your MitID is compromised. You might be able to just block the unit that you have lost.

  • If you have blocked your MitID, you must visit Citizen Service to reactivate it.
  • If you have blocked your MitID app, code display, code reader or chip, you can reactivate it or get a new.
