If you have been required to visit a Citizen Service Centre by MitID Support or your bank, please consider the following before the visit:

  • Find the location of the Citizen Service Centre in the municipality you want to visit
  • Check whether you need to book a time for your visit (most centres require that you book time, so they can assist you correctly)
  • Remember valid documentation
  • Answer a number of questions about yourself (based on the danish CPR-register) or bring a witnesser, who can confirm your identity.

What is a witnesser?
A witnesser is a person, who will visit the citizen service centre with you and confirm your identity. To be a witnesser, the person must be 18 years old or older and have had MitID for longer that 10 days. The witnesser must bring valid documentation (see below) and his/hers MitID. The person are allowed to be a witnesser for 3 persons within a 120 day period.

Find your local Citizen Service Centre and check whether they require that you book at time

See valid documentaiton and read more about witnesses

Don't risk getting your identity compromised or stolen!
At the moment we are experiencing a sharp rise in attempts to compromise your identity and your accounts by calling you pretending to be from MitID Support and asking for your password or user ID. - Ignore what they ask you to do - Do NOT swipe using your MitID app unless you are absolutely sure that it is a transaction you initiated yourself. MitID Support will NEVER contact you for your codes and user ID.

In cases where MitID Support is required to change your information

It might happen where MitID Support is required to change or correct your information on MitID.dk. To ensure that we are assisting the correct person, we need you to confirm your identity.

You confirm your identity by loggin in to MitID.dk and create a support ticket. A support ticket is a six digit code that is active for three hours and tied to your personnal MitID.

Create a support ticket

If you cannot log into and create a support ticket, you will be asked to confirm your identity in other ways. You could be asked to answer control questions over the phone or show picture ID at a citizen service centre.
