How to log on and authenticate with MitID code display

The code display is a small electronic device that displays a one-time password code. Enter the one-time password code, when you log on to confirm your MitID.

When you want to use the MitID code display to approve with MitID, you first have to enter your user ID and a 6-digit one-time password code from the code display. You get the one-time password code by pressing the button on your MitID code display – be aware that the button must be to your left side. Finally, you have to enter your password. You have now approved with MitID.

Be aware of this before you confirm

As you enter your code and confirm, you are completing an important step in a process, e.g. transferring money.

If the text you are confronted with does not match your expectations, you should cancel your action immediately

Safeguard your MitID

  • Always keep your user ID and password separate from your MitID code display.
  • Never hand over your user ID, codes or MitID code display to anyone else.
  • Block your MitID code display, if you lose it. You can do this here at MitID.dk or at a Citizen Service Center.
  • Remember that you should never log in or authorise based on phone calls from someone claiming to be from your bank, the police, Citizen Service or support.
