Approve with a button instead of swiping
Going forward, MitID users can choose to use a button instead of swiping when logging in or approving actions with the MitID app. This may be useful, for example, for users who find swiping difficult — such as people with physical disabilities that cause hand tremors.
When approving with a button in the MitID app, users must press and hold the “Approve” button for one second. The phone or tablet will briefly vibrate while the button is being held down, and the button will gradually change color to indicate how long it needs to be pressed. Users can switch to button approval in the MitID app menu under App Settings → Swipe or Button.
Block and reopen your MitID in the MitID App
It is now also possible to temporarily block and reopen your MitID directly in the MitID app. When you temporarily block your MitID, all use of your MitID is disabled. This means that neither you nor anyone else can use or misuse your MitID.
Previously, users had to visit Citizen Service (Borgerservice) to reopen their MitID. However, with the new update, users can also reopen it directly in the MitID app using their passport or ID card. This means you can avoid a trip to Citizen Service and reopen your MitID from the comfort of your home.
