In cases where MitID Support is required to change your information

From time to time, it may be necessary for MitID Support to correct your information for you on MitID.dk. To ensure that we are assisting the right person, you must be able to confirm your identity.

You can do this, for example, by providing either your passport or driver license number (valid Danish or Greenlandic or Faroese driver license or passport), when you call Support, and then answering a series of security questions.

Support ticket

Another way to identify yourself is by creating a support ticket. A support ticket is a six-digit code that is valid for 3 hours and is linked to your personal MitID. When you call MitID Support, you can identify yourself by providing the support ticket number.

You can create a support ticket by either logging in to MitID.dk or by selecting 'Support ticket' in the menu of the MitID app and then scan your passport or international ID card.

If you have been required to visit Citizen Service by MitID Support or your bank, please consider the following before the visit:

  • Find the location of the Citizen Service in the municipality you want to visit.
  • Check whether you need to book an appointment for your visit (most Citizen Services require that you book an appointment, so they can assist you correctly).
  • Remember valid documentation.
  • Answer a number of questions about yourself (based on the danish CPR-register) or bring a witnesser, who can confirm your identity.
