Step 2 - Download MitID app and open app

Step 1 - Check your phone and passport/ID card
Step 2 - Download MitID app and open app
Step 3 - Scan passport/ID card code, read chip and scan face
Step 4 - Activate MitID app

  1. Open Apple App Store or Google Play
  2. Search for “MitID”
  3. Select MitID app from "Digitaliseringsstyrelsen"
  4. Click Download
  5. Wait for the MitID appen to download on your phone or tablet
  6. Click Open to open MitID app 

  1. Open the MitID app
  2. Press Get started
  3. Choose 'Passport or ID card' and press Next
  4. Read the 4 steps you must go through and press Next
  5. Accept the Teams and Condition by pressing Next
  6. Read the Privacy Policy and press Next
  7. Proceed to step 2 by pressing Next
  8. Choose where your passport is from and press Next 

    For passports from 'Other country, or diplomatic/public service passport issued by Denmark':
    • Select whether you have a Danish CPR number, or if you need to use a P-code (if you do not have a Danish CPR number). See here how to get a P-code
    • Enter either the CPR number or the P-code. Click Next.
    • Choose whether you want to use a passport or an ID card.

Go to step 3 - Scan passport/ID card code, read chip and scan face
