Problems with the MitID app on some Samsung or Pixel 8/8 Pro mobile phones

Updated 23 October 2023.

Samsung has released a new security update that has resolved a previous issue with using the MitID app on Samsung mobile phones with Android 13. It is now possible for users with Samsung mobile phones to update the security update without causing errors in the use of the MitID app.

If you still experience errors after the security update, you must reactivate the MitID app. This is done by following the instructions below. The instructions apply only if you have a valid passport.

  1. Go to 'Settings' in the MitID app and select 'Remove User'
  2. in 'Settings', select 'Activate MitID' and then 'Passport/ID card'
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to activate your MitID app using your passport

If you do not have a valid passport but another authenticator, you can reactivate the MitID app by logging in to MitID.dk. Alternatively, contact your local Citizen Service Centre.

Problems with Pixel 8 and 8 Pro mobile phones

There is also a problem with version 3.2.1 of the MitID app on Google's new Pixel 8 and 8 Pro mobile phones, which means that the MitID app does not work. A solution is being worked on as soon as possible.

It is recommended to wait to update the MitID version 3.2.1 of the app on the Pixel 8 and 8 pro mobile phones if possible.

This means that there are no problems downloading MitID version 3.2.1 on mobile phones other than those listed.
