1) Activate MitID app on this phone

You can activate the MitID app on the phone that you just used to scan your passport.

1. Select On this phone on the screen "How do you want to authenticate with MitID?"
2. Enter the temporary PIN code you receive via SMS.
3. Create a personal PIN code for your new MitID app and repeat it. You will need this PIN code every time you use the MitID app.
4. Choose whether you want to use biometrics (Fingerprint/Touch ID/Face ID) for future authentications with the MitID app.
   5.Tap Set up notifications and then Allow. MitID will send you important messages regularly.
   6.Your MitID app is now activated and ready to use. Press OK to return to the home screen.

2) Activate MitID app on another phone/tablet

You can activate the MitID app on a different phone or tablet than the one you just used to scan your passport.

First, download the MitID app from the Apple App Store or Google Play on the phone/tablet where you want the MitID app installed.

1. Continue on the phone you used to scan your passport.
2. Select App on another phone/tablet on the screen "How do you want to authenticate with MitID?" Tap Next.
3. Tap Show QR code on the screen “Activate new app with QR code”.
4. As a security measure to confirm it’s you scanning the QR code, MitID needs to use Bluetooth. Allow the MitID app to use Bluetooth.
5. You will now see a QR code that you need to scan with the phone/tablet where you want to install the MitID app. The QR code is valid for 3 minutes.
   
   
   
6. Open the MitID app on the phone/tablet where you want to activate the app.
7. Tap Get started on the screen “Activate your MitID.”.
8. Select Copy from another MitID app. Tap Next.
9. Check the box QR code is shown on the old app and tap Scan QR code.
10. Allow the MitID app to use Bluetooth.
11. Now scan the QR code by holding your new phone/tablet up to the QR code on your old phone/tablet. When you see a green checkmark, the QR code scan is complete.
12. Enter your user ID to confirm your identity. Then tap Next.
13. Enter the temporary PIN code you receive via SMS.
14. Create a personal PIN code for your new MitID app and repeat it. You will need this PIN code every time you use the MitID app.
15. Choose whether you want to use biometrics (Fingerprint/Touch ID/Face ID) for future authentications with the MitID app.
16. Tap Set up notifications and then Allow. MitID will send you important messages regularly.
17. Your MitID app is now activated and ready to use. Tap OK to return to the home screen.

3) Activate/order code display, audio code reader, or chip

1. Select Code display, audio code reader, or chip on the screen "How do you want to authenticate with MitID?" Tap Next.
2. Scroll down and choose what you want to order/activate. For example, Tap Select code display.
3. You will now see the message "Do you have a code display/audio code reader/chip?"
4. Tap No, order if you don’t have a code display/audio code reader/chip and want to order one. Follow the on-screen steps to order a code display/code reader/chip.
5. Tap Yes, activate if you have a code display/audio code reader/chip that you want to activate and then follow the steps below. Note that if you want to activate a MitID chip, you should follow this guide.
6. Create a personal password for your MitID code display/audio code reader and repeat it. You will need this password every time you use the MitID code display/audio code reader.
7. Enter the serial number found on the back of your MitID code display/audio code reader.
8. Enter the 6-digit one-time code displayed or read aloud when you press the button on your MitID code display/audio code reader.
9. Your MitID code display/audio code reader is now activated and ready to use.
