Step 5 - Activate or order MitID

1. Choose On this phone on the screen 'How do you want to approve with MitID?'.
2. Enter the temporary PIN code that you receive in an SMS.
3. Come up with a personal PIN code that you can remember. You will need the PIN code every time you open and use the MitID app.
4. Optionally, choose to use fingerprint/Touch ID/Face ID to open the app.
5. Accept notifications to receive important messages about MitID.

Tip: Copy the PIN into the app. With some phones, you just need to tap the grey box to have the code from the SMS automatically entered - or you can see it on a banner that appears at the top for a few seconds. Finally, there are phones where you must go to your messaging app to see the SMS and back again in the MitID app to enter the code. 

1. Download the MitID app on the other phone/tablet where you want the app installed.
2. Take the phone you used to scan your passport again.
3. Choose App on another phone/tablet on the screen 'How do you want to approve with MitID?'. Press Next.
4. Press Show QR code on the screen 'Activate new app with QR code'.
5. You will now see a QR code that you need to scan to copy the MitID app to the other phone/tablet. The QR code is valid for three minutes.
6. Open the MitID app on the other phone/tablet where you want the app installed.
7. Press Get started on the screen 'Activate your MitID'.
8. Choose Copy from another MitID app. Press Next.
9. Highlight the field The QR code is displayed on the old app and press Scan QR code.
10. Scan the QR code by holding the phone/tablet in front of your old app with the phone's screen facing yourself so that the MitID app uses your phone's camera to scan the QR code.
11. Enter your user ID to confirm your identity. Then press Next.
12. Enter a temporary PIN code you receive via SMS.
13. Press Next on the screen 'Choose your personal PIN code'.
14. Create your personal PIN code. Press Next.
15. Repeat your personal PIN code. Press Next.
16. Choose whether you want to approve with biometric (fingerprint/Touch ID/Face ID).
17. Choose whether you want to accept notifications from the MitID app.
18. This app is now activated and ready to use. Press OK.

The MitID app you have on the phone you used to scan your passport is still active. If you no longer want to use it, you can delete it or keep it as a backup for your new MitID app, so you always have access to MitID.

1. Choose Code display, audio code reader, or chip on the screen 'How do you want to approve with MitID?'. Press Next.
2. Scroll down and press, for example, Choose code display on the screen 'What do you want to activate/order?'.
3. You will now see the screen 'Do you have a code display?' 
   
   Press No, order a code display, if you do not have a code display and you want to order one. Follow the steps on the screen to order a code display, which you will subsequently receive by mail along with instructions on how to activate it.
   
   Press Yes, activate, if you have a code display.
   
   
4. On the screen 'MitID activation' press Next.
5. On the screen 'Create your new password' enter your new password and repeat the password. Press Next.
6. On the screen 'Enter serial number' enter the serial number from the code display. Press Next.
7. On the screen 'Enter the code from your code display' enter the one-time code you get by pressing the button on the code display. Press Next.
8. The activation is complete. Press Finish.
