Activate your MitID code display

You can activate your MitID code display in two ways:

  • Activate the code display by scanning your passport/ID card in the MitID app
  • Activate the code display with an activation code you receive at Citizen Service

You can activate your MitID code display with your passport/ID card if you have:

  1. Download the MitID app from the App Store or Google Play, if you do not have it.
  2. Open the app. Access the menu at the top of the screen.
  3. Press Activate.
  4. Press Activate your MitID and then Next.
  5. Select Passport/ID card – and follow the steps in the MitID app.

You can get an activation code for your MitID code display at Citizen Service. You must bring valid documentation to get an activation code. You must book an appointment at Citizen Service before you show.

How to use the MitID code display

When you want to use the MitID code display to approve with MitID, you first have to enter your user ID and a 6-digit one-time password code from the code display. You get the one-time password code by pressing the button on your MitID code display. Finally, you have to enter your password. You have now approved with MitID. Read more about the MitID code display
