If you have been required to visit a Citizen Service Centre by MitID Support or your bank, please consider the following before the visit:
What is a witnesser?
A witnesser is a person, who will visit the citizen service centre with you and confirm your identity. To be a witnesser, the person must be 18 years old or older and have had MitID for longer that 10 days. The witnesser must bring valid documentation (see below) and his/hers MitID. The person are allowed to be a witnesser for 3 persons within a 120 day period.
Find your local Citizen Service Centre and check whether they require that you book at time
At the moment we are experiencing a sharp rise in attempts to compromise your identity and your accounts by calling you pretending to be from MitID Support and asking for your password or user ID. - Ignore what they ask you to do - Do NOT swipe using your MitID app unless you are absolutely sure that it is a transaction you initiated yourself. MitID Support will NEVER contact you for your codes and user ID.
