Get MitID with a foreign passport

Activate or reactivate a MitID app with your passport/international ID card. All it takes is a valid passport/ID card and a phone that can scan your passport.

Steps you need to go through

  1. Check your phone, your passport/ID card – and check if you need a P-code
  2. Download and open the MitID app
  3. Scan the passport/ID card's code, read the chip and use face scan
  4. Create user ID
  5. Activate or order MitID

Alternatively, you can get your MitID at Citizen Service

If you have experienced problems scanning your passport and need to visit Citizen Service for help, make sure to bring the necessary documentation with you. This includes documentation with your Danish CPR number if you need MitID for accessing most Danish self-service solutions or MitID Erhverv.

If you want to use MitID Erhverv, where you act digitally on behalf of a Danish organization, you can read more at mitid-erhverv.dk
