MitID authenticators

To use MitID, you must have a MitID authenticator. You use your authenticator every time you transfer money using your online bank, check your taxes, shop online, etc.

You use your MitID authenticator, when you need to confirm your identity, that is when you log on or approve using MitID. The most convenient authenticator is the MitID app on your smartphone or your tablet. You can choose another authenticator, like the MitID Code Display if you are hesitant about using the app.

Note that your personal password also is a way to confirm your identity. This is why your password is a MitID authenticator to be used when you log on or approve using MitID.

All MitID authenticators can be used alone or in combination with other MitID authenticators. Whether you need one or more authenticators is dependent on what you intend to do.

The higher the requirement for security, the more authenticators are involved. If you are transferring a large sum of money, it is required that you can confirm your identity and therefore you will need more than one authenticator.
